Southcoast Hospitals Group Complementary Therapy Committee presents “Mind, Body, Spirit: Integrating Complementary Therapies and Medicine,” the first of a two-part symposium to be held on Wednesday, March 21, from five to 9 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth Campus Center. The symposium will feature Herbert Benson, MD, the founding president of the Mind/Body Medical Institute in Boston whose world-renowned behavioral medicine work “serves as a bridge between medicine and religion, East and West, mind and body, as well as between belief and science.”
Preceding the lecture, the public is welcome to experience a variety of therapies during a free therapy exposition from five to 7 p.m. Dr. Benson will then present “Relaxation Response and Timeless Healing: The Power and Biology of Belief.”

The exposition and lecture is open to the public for a charge of $5, $3 for students and senior citizens. Continuing education credits may also be available.
