Teradyne matches analyst forecasts

BOSTON (Bloomberg) — Teradyne Inc., the biggest maker of semiconductor-testing
equipment, said first-quarter profit fell in line with reduced forecasts as customers
bought fewer products and services. Profit from operations was $59.7 million,
or 33 cents a share, compared with $93.4 million, or 52 cents a share, a year
earlier, the Boston-based company said in a news release distributed by Business
Wire. Sales for the quarter slipped to $605.2 million from $615.4 million last
year. First-quarter profit matched the average estimate of analysts polled by
Call/Thomson Financial.
