Walter S. Monroe has been named vice president and branch manager of BankNewport in the North Kingstown office. He will be responsible for branch operations, business development and staff development. Previously, Monroe served as assistant vice president and manager for Citizens Bank at the East Greenwich and East Providence branch locations. He has a B.S. from the University of Rhode Island. •
