Stanley Works, parent of Bostich in East Greenwich, is a worldwide
producer of tools and door products. For the quarter that ended March 31, the
company reported net sales of $626.2 million, down 10 percent from the same period
a year ago, and net income of $46.6 million, down 3 percent from a year ago. In
April, the company completed its acquisition of Contact East, Inc., a business-to-business
distributor of mission-critical tools and supplies for assembling, testing and
repairing electronics.
