Congratulations to Bryant College on the sweeping success of the $50 million expansion and renovation project on the school’s Smithfield campus – a project now three-quarters complete.
Last week, Bryant dedicated a 31,000-square-foot Wellness Center that includes an Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art athletic and fitness training equipment.
And this coming June, the George E. Bello Center for Information and Technology is expected to be completed. George E. Bello, an executive of Reliance Holdings, Inc. in New York City, made construction of the 71,000-square-foot facility possible with a $5 million gift to his alma mater. Since graduating from Bryant in 1958, Bello has continued to be an active alumnus and now serves on the school’s Board of Directors.
The $17 million structure will house the college’s 140,000-volume library, a reference classroom with 50 computer stations and a cybercafe. The focal point of the center will be its Grand Hall, which will serve as an entrance, exhibit area and lecture space – accommodating up to 400 people.
