A $114,836 grant from the Champlin Foundations will be used to expand bioscience studies and update the biotechnology lab at the Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln.
The expansion and upgrade of Davies’ lab, which trains students for careers in the biotechnology industry, is slated for completion by spring of 2002.

The new lab is a component of a larger project designed to prepare the future workforce of Rhode Island’s growth biotechnology/biopharmaceutical industry.
“Davies prides itself on providing both academic and technical education to prepare its graduates for careers in the industry growth sectors of the state,” said Tom Tanury, Davies board of trustees chairman.
