Dennis M. McLaughlin has been named head of the combat systems department at Newport-based Naval Undersea Warfare Center. He supervises a department of more than 470 people that’s responsible for research and development, systems analysis, design, engineering, testing and fleet introduction of submarine and combat control systems. McLaughlin received a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester and a master’s from the University of Rhode Island. McLaughlin lives in Wakefield.
