Michael R. Franco has been appointed vice president for institutional advancement at Roger Williams University. He will be responsible for all aspects of fund raising, including the annual giving campaign and capital campaigns, corporate, foundation, and alumni relations, and public affairs and government relations. Franco was formerly employed as chief development officer at the New Bedford, Massachusetts Oceanarium, vice president, institutional advancement at Rhode Island School of Design, and associate vice president, university development at the University of Rochester in New York. Franco earned his Ed.D in higher education administration from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University, and a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Boston College. He is a resident of Providence.
