Edward J. Kavanagh has been appointed the first provost at Roger Williams University. As the chief academic officer for RWU, Kavanagh is responsible for the viability, quality and reputation of the institution’s academic programs. He had been at Quinnipiac College in Connecticut. A Bristol resident, Kavanagh received a bachelor’s degree from Marist College and a Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire. He conducted his post-doctoral fellowship at the Public Health Research Institute in New York City and has a certificate from the Institute for Management & Leadership in Education at Harvard.
