Robert A. Barrio has been named vice president of strategic planning and business
development at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. He was formerly employed as
executive vice president for finance and CEO at Masonicare Corporation, a Connecticut
parent holding company of a multi-corporate system that offers a comprehensive
spectrum of health care services, and senior vice president and CEO at William
W. Backus Hospital in Conn. Barrio also held management positions at Leonard
Morse Hospital in Natick, Mass. and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He has bachelor’s degrees in accounting and management from Bentley College
and a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk University. He is
a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Institute
of Management Accountants.
