James Karam, president and founder of the Fall River development company First Bristol Corp., has been appointed to the University of Massachusetts board of trustees by Gov. Deval L. Patrick.
Karam’s company has developed nearly 3 million square feet of shopping centers, hotels and office buildings in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He is also co-owner of radio stations WSAR and WHTB, which serve southeastern Massachusetts.
