Joan Teno of Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island has received certification in hospice and pallative medicine. She works with the long-term care team and nurse practitioners overseeing the plan of care for nursing home patients. Teno is also a professor of community health and medicine and associate director of the Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research at the Brown Medical School. She was a committee member for the Last Acts report in states’ ability to provide good care at the end of life.
