Kenneth N. Kermes

Kenneth N. Kermes, former vice president of service development and strategic planning at South County Hospital, has been named recipient of the Benjamin R. Sturges Distinguished Service Award. The award given to honor an individual in recognition of his or her personal achievements in and/or contributions to health care and the health of the people of Rhode Island. Kermes served as South County Hospital Healthcare System chairman, board of trustees from 1992 to 1998. In addition, he and his wife have volunteered at many of the hospital’s special events. He received a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College.
