Michael L. Lapisky has been named chief of the R.I. Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Fish and Wildlife.
He joined the DEM full time in 1972 as a wildlife biologist in the Division of Fish and Wildlife and was named deputy chief in 1993.
Lapisky is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and a certified wildlife biologist with specialized training in wildlife and oil spill response and habitat evaluation procedures.
