Michael S. Van Leesten has been appointed board member for the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society. Van Leesten is the president of The Van Leesten Group LLC and chairman and CEO of OIC of Rhode Island. He is also a past and current member of the boards of numerous organizations. He previously served as managing director of public affairs for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. •
