LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. — Sakonnet Vineyards, located along West Main Road in Little Compton, was recently awarded a gold medal for its 1995 Samson Brut sparkling wine at the Los Angeles County Fair – a prestigious international competition.
Samson Brut was Sakonnet’s first sparkling wine produced from grapes grown in its own Little Compton vineyard. The cuvée is 70 percent Chardonnay and 30 percent Pinot Noir and is made in the traditional Méthode Champenoise fashion.
