WESTERLY, R.I. (PRNewswire) — Employees of the Washington Trust Company, including members of senior management, recently participated in a South County Habitat for Humanity “Team Build,” assisting with the construction of two homes in Charlestown.
In addition to the Team Build, Washington Trust helped finance the project by underwriting a $20,000 grant to the Affordable Housing Program through Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston and contributing a $20,000 donation.

South County Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. The organization’s mission is to build simple, decent, safe and affordable housing in partnership with individuals and families in need. The organization offers no-interest, non-profit mortgages to families that are unable to afford standard mortgages, and offers them the opportunity to put “sweat equity” towards the building of their own and other homes. Homes are built largely through volunteer labor.
